In the future, provinces and cities will announce similar measures, and pollution fees such as sulfur dioxide will also be included in the scope of future environmental tax collection.
Officials of the Environmental Protection Department of Jiangsu Province confirmed to the Great Wisdom News Agency in this regard that Jiangsu will not only greatly increase the collection standards of waste disposal fees, construction site dust emission fees, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides and other emissions fees, but also make institutional arrangements for air management, and Promulgate local regulations to improve and protect the ecological environment.
A document obtained by the Big Wisdom News Agency from the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission shows that Beijing’s current pollution discharge fee is less than 1 yuan per kilogram. After the 2014 New Year's Day, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and chemical oxygen demand will be uniformly adjusted to 10 yuan per kilogram, and ammonia nitrogen will be adjusted to 12 yuan per kilogram.
Beijing’s current garbage charge is uniformly 25 yuan per ton. After New Year’s Day, the non-resident domestic garbage disposal fee (including collection, transportation, and treatment) will be adjusted to 300 yuan/ton; the kitchen waste disposal fee (including collection, transportation, and treatment) will be adjusted to 100 yuan / tonne.
